Centers
I have bought and made some new things for our workstations and the children were having fun taking pictures today.
In this center the children have to put the alphabet in order then put pictures of animals next to their beginning sound.

In this center they have to pick an animal picture then write the name of it.

These are the aprons that go into our kitchen center.

Trouble with Money
We read the "Trouble with Money" and made banks on Monday. The children will be earning money all week for doing good things and on Friday they will be able to buy things from my store.
Ladybug math
Ladybugs
We studied ladybugs last week and also read the Grouchy Ladybug. We had a container of live ladybugs and did experiments. We also wrote our first research paper. These are pictures of our experiment in the science lab to see if ladybugs went toward the cold or hot water. There are also pictures of our ladybug journals where we wrote our research paper and observations of the ladybugs.

Symmetry
We have been working on insects this week and in math we learned about symmetry. We had to work with partners and use pattern blocks to show symmetry.

Maps
We worked on maps this week. We made a map of the classroom, garden and our room. We went to the science lab and read Rosie's Walk and made a salt flour map of her walk. We also worked in groups to make Rosie's Walk.
Three Dimensional Shapes
We worked on 3D shapes this week. The children walked around the school looking for 3D shapes and also made shapes out of playdough. On Friday we used the laptops and made a chart of the shapes on pixie 2.

Raw and Boiled Eggs
We did an experiment with boiled and raw eggs. The children compared and contrasted the two eggs and predicted which was raw and which was boiled. They really enjoyed cracking them and seeing if their prediction was right and seeing and feeling the eggs.
