Good Listener

I had recently seen a Good Listener poster made by Mrs. Shepard at My Second Grade Journal and thought it was too cute so I had to make one to match my theme. If you are doing a pirate theme I would defiantly check hers out, she has a great blog and freebies gotta love that. I also found out she works in my district, too cool.

What a good listener does.

Cheers Stickers

I am trying so hard to learn how to upload documents to blogger, I know most people can do this but I just haven't sat down long enough to do the research to figure it out. I really hope I have done it right if not please let me know.

Here are some cheers stickers that I hope you can use in your classroom. I have gotten these cheers from workshops and heard them over the years. I used avery label#8867 to print these then I added them to popsicle sticks so the children can pull them.
When the children have to say anything in front of the class or present their work to the class we pick a cheer and everyone does it for that student, they love these.

Please click on the cheer to download.

project

Here is another project that I have pinned on pinterest. This one was very inexpensive and easy to make. I used clothes pins ($1.00), spray paint ($2.88), and yard sticks (.62), I already had the hot glue. I spray painted all the clothes pins to match the color scheme in my room and left the yard sticks alone, my husband suggested painting them white after I was done so I might go back and do that. I wanted to make sure I could hang up the paper in both directions so I measured using the paper both ways then I hot glued each clothes pin to the ruler, I just used that ruler and measured all the rest. I then drilled a small hole at the end of each ruler and used some sting to hold up the rulers. I am going to use command hooks to hang these from in the hallway outside my classroom. I only have one bulletin board and just hate the way the walls look after years of stapling on them over and over again so this is a way that will leave no damage to the walls.

When I hang them in the hallway I will use a ribbon and make it smaller so you won't see so much and the ribbon will cover up the command hook.

Random thoughts

I so have got to stop looking at other blogs that have Target buys. I look at them and just have to have one thing then go to the store and well I end up walking out with more than just one thing that I just had to have. Here is a picture of my recent purchases, I was really surprised about the table pocket chart I have been wanting one of those for awhile.

I used my cricut to fancy up the purple bins from Target and I will be using these for my lessons for each day.

I also used my cricut to make a few other things, I am really enjoying the time off and being able to make things for my room.

Since I am changing grades and will probably have the same kids (not sure) I want to change my room up a bit so it doesn't look exactly the same as last year but I don't want to spend a fortune doing it. I have been taking some old things and adding or changing them to make them look different. This is my writing table from last year, all I did was staple fabric around it and gave it a whole new look.
